Pest inspections are an important part of the process for the first time home buyer. Steve Filkins with Filk Pest Control joins me Amerifirst Home Mortgage specialist Jeremy Drobeck to take a look at the pest inspection process. We look specifically at wood destroying insects like carpenter ants and termites, and how they destroy homes. I always highly recommend having a pest inspection done as part of the home buying process it can save you a ton of money. For example, the home in this video was a rental property I was personally purchasing. I had Filk Pest Control do a pest inspection on the home prior to me purchasing it. Sure enough they found both carpenter Ants and Termites at a cost of well over $1,000 having not done the inspection could have cost me big time. Instead I was able to renegotiate the price and obtained a HUGE price reduction. The $50 pest inspection save me thousands of dollars!
